Reflect on a time when you prioritized someone else's needs over your own, at a time when it wasn't necessary. Did it have an impact on your well-being? (Positive or Negative)
When is the last time you gifted yourself with something/some time, etc. for yourself without guilt?
'What if I gift myself with small moments of joy?'
"Start small and expand over time."
Was there something today that brought you joy/made you laugh/got your creative juices going? If not, take a look at this list for some ideas of things you may want to try in the future.
[singing] Beautiful soul, amazing human, Hello, hello, hello. Gift yourself with things that bring you joy, whether it is meditation, dancing, whatever it is, make the time start small and expand; add it to your calendar; if you need to, set alarms. There is an app called Amazing Marvin, that my ADHD brain, lately, has been really digging. You might want to check it out. I'll add a link to it, but within it, once you set it up super cool. There's a habit tracker. So if there's something you want to do for yourself, you can set it up in there and mark it off. That feels really good for me. But whether it's your regular calendar, your paper calendar... Rings - I like to do, let me show you. I make rings for things that I want to do: like Christmas tree rings. They say things and then I'll cut them off and fold them up when I'm done.
Whatever it takes for you to remember to do things for you. You are so worth it. You are! Future you is cheering you on. [they are like, "Come on. We are worth it. We are worth it. If you're not gonna do it for you now do it for me in the future." [giggle]
But be kind to yourself. Enjoy the moment. Believe it or not, life is supposed to be fun. You can find the joy. I believe in you. Alright, enjoy today's video and I will see you next time amazing human.
01:47 The topic today: gift yourself with... it is common for parents to put their children's needs in front of their own needs. If this is you, ask yourself "What if I gift myself with small moments of joy?" The moments don't have to be a financial impact either. Simply be sure the moment brings you joy. Maybe it's a short walk outside, or reading a book that's been sitting on your shelf for quite some time, or it could be something like buying yourself flowers. The key here is to allow yourself to do the thing without guilt. Add it to your calendar if it helps or set an alarm so you remember. Start small and expand over time. You'll start to feel better. You'll be more in tune with yourself and less run by your emotions. Each time you do this, remind yourself you are worthy of this. And you are amazing!
