Beautiful soul, amazing human, we are in the homestretch: progress isn't linear! This is not something I've come up with. I did a quick Google search in images. I'm sure you've seen some of these. I love this. People think it looks like this, it really looks like, Yes, this one looks fun. You could probably Pinterest this and see all the different options. This is as a reminder that your progress isn't going to be linear. But, also, the added analogy of the leveling up and that in the progress that you have made so far, there are lessons that you have learned. So that when you go back to it, you may consider something different, you may know how to process through it faster. And I bet you can think of a few times in your life where you were working on something, maybe you set it down, you walked away, it felt like things weren't moving. But suddenly things clicked, you got in the flow. And it all made sense, when the timing was right. And everything came together.
01:17 This is your reminder that as you work on yourself, don't be surprised if you have really great days where you're catching your thoughts, you're able to change them, you're feeling really good about things and then other days that it's super easy to fall back into the autopilot of life. It's a routine, it's a pattern. And because it's a pattern, I want to say it's comfortable. It isn't necessarily comfortable in emotions, but it's familiar. And I liken that to: we step out we grow we learn things, it feels really good. But imagine it as if you're riding a bike, and you're on a path. You're kind of forming your own path, but then your tire gets caught in a well worn tire track for other bikes. And it immediately goes down. So think of your know the way your autopilot is that groove that you have. And it's really easy when you're just starting to get into the new parts of your life to fall back into that groove. It's okay, you know how to get out.
02:44 When you notice it, [ say to yourself], "oh my goodness, this is great. I noticed it. And I know what to do going forward! It's all good." We have good days as humans; we have bad days as humans; we have moments that we're proud of; moments that we aren't. Yes, me too. It's called humanity. The growth is what's important. [phone notification] And that is my key to go for tonight. Have an amazing day/evening/week ahead. I'll see you next time. And you're amazing.
03:26 Today's topic is to remember that progress isn't linear. I landed on a video game analogy to add a bit more fun to the nonlinear message. Episode 55 and some others of my podcast share more than I can cover in this short video. But imagine a platform game where there is an ape you're trying to get past while avoiding barrels and jumping for hammers. For each new level, the time spent learning the level: for example, the timing of the jump, it's all training! Whether or not you return to the start of that level, you have a new knowledge you can use. I encourage you to notice your emotions as you return to the start. Are you ready to toss the controller around the room? Or are you excited to implement your new knowledge on another try? Where are your thoughts led when you apply this analogy to a life happening? Don't forget you are amazing!
